I have used the sports ball pan a couple of times. Is that what you have? I use the doctored cake mix so the cake is a little denser. Just fill about 2/3 full and I bake everything at 325 degrees. Can't remember how long they took to get done, but it was a good while since the pan is deep. I level them in the pan and the turn out on a rack to cool. What kind of problem are you having?

I basically filled the bottom half with cake mix and shut, it half way through rotated the ball. As the instructions. what is the cake mix you are talking about

are you using the sports ball pan? I have the directions for the wilton sports ball pan and I bake each half seperatly and level when it comes out of the oven. Then use a thin layer of buttercream to connect them in the middle for my full ball shape.

I have never heard of rotating a pan in the middle of baking. What type of pan is it?

Perhaps next time I fill the two halves and not make it as an entire sphere. What is the doctored cake mix you are talking about. Thanks for your response.

It is also a wilton I believe but the cke tin closes and a little wire latches it shut. Basically it sits in a little stand. There for I will need to stand it in something to cook it. But 2 halves is better I suppose for better taste. Thanks

that's interesting, I have not seen a pan like that before. I would suggest the two seperate if you can not get it as one. Then just ice them together.

Not sure what cake mix Cindy uses, however I usually use a cake mix with all ingredients on the box plus one small box of pudding and one additional egg. Then I mix exactly as the box says, using a timer for the 30 seconds and for the 2 minutes.

Hope this helps and your next one comes out perfect icon_smile.gif
