I gave one of my neighbors one of my Wilton class cakes and they said their twenty-something (23?) son ate most of it and said if I needed to get rid of anymore, send them his way! icon_lol.gif He already graduated school but wants to go into filmmaking; directing, I think. It's just for me to practice so nothing elaborate. All I can think of is a film roll and canisters, maybe one of those director's things, I don't even know what you call them--the boards with the scene numbers and whatnot, when you push the lever down and yell "Cut!" I don't want anything that would use too much luster dust, I only have tiny canisters of that and nothing that will use too much black, I want it to taste good. I haven't used fondant yet but probably could practice with it. There are some great ones here but I don't want to go overboard, he's not paying for it! icon_lol.gif
Is there anything else I can do?

My husband actually does that job in films. He's an appretice camera operator. Those "clappy" things are called "slates".

It's fun to fill in all those spaces with their name/date/info. You can do them without so much black dye, like this:

How about making him an OSCAR? You could make it out of yellow fondant and place it on top of a smaller cake, or just do a flat image..."And the Winner Is..." Not too elaborate, but yet inspiring.

Wyatt I thought of that but don't want to get too involved with carving just for a practice cake. It would be cute though!

Anotnia, is there any way you can enlarge that photo for me! I thought of that, too, putting his info on the slate icon_wink.gif like his name and DOB.
