Hi,

I'm newbie here and am glad that I found this site, have been browsing the discussion threads and cakes pictures and I simply LOVE it.

After reading some feedback on MMF, I intend to try it out (is gonna be my first time using fondant). May I ask :

1. Must the cake be kept in the fridge after decorated with MMF or just leave at room temperature (weather here is very humid)?

2. Must I apply whipping cream on the surface of the cake before I lay the MMF on it?

3. How long can I keep the MMF?

Thanks in advance.

if you put whip cream under it, then you would need to put it in the fridge, but if it's buttercream underneath it doesn't have to be in the fridge. i use mmf all the time and it can last a several days.

MMF is VERY durable. The only reason you'd want to refrigerate it is if there's some other part of the cake that needs refrigeration.

MMF if wrapped up tightly with plastic wrap and then put in a sealed container will last for months without going bad at room temperature....if you were wondering how long the left overs would keep.....I had some for months and I tasted it and it still tasted exactlly the same LOL I don't know that the stuff ever spoils LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for all your valuable inputs. Really appreicate it very much. I'm now determine to try it when I've time.

BTW is there any links that I can refer to on how to make figurine using MMF? It would be better with step by step photo guide as I'm totally new in this area. Thanks.
