I want to make a display cake that looks like a bridal gown. I have seen them in the past somewhere on the interent but for the life of me I can't figure out where to start. Usually I can see the design but this time I am my brain is blank! Ha Ha! Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? They would be greatly appreciated.

If your making a dummy cake you can get round foam boards and glue them together.. Maybe you can carve out the round part (bottom) with an electric knife.. Some where here they have recipe for the icing you will need for the dummy cake.. And then let it dry and use fondant I am assuming to make the bottom of the dress... To make it look like it has like waves, maybe roll some fondant and push it against the cake going up and down.. then cover that with the fondant.. Am I making sense??
Doing the same for the top of the dress.. Makeing little disc out of the foam to form the top part of the dress.. Shaping like a wine bottle just about...
OR
For the top part of the dress, I made one with fondant.. I placed an empty bottle (taped wax paper around it )(seasoning bottle) on its side and tape it down.. Then I coated with corn starch, and made a cut out of the top and layed it on the bottle.. I also placed little balls of fondant to make the bust in the dress...Hope you can understand what I am talking about!! Good Luck!
