I just joined and this group seems like it has a lot of good information. I will be returning to Rwanda, Africa in July and will be teaching some food classes and some cake decorating classes. The ONLY decorated cake I saw while I was there ( Dec. 2005) was VERY dry and was iced with Royal Icing. I was not impressed. As it was my first trip there I am not familiar with what is available there for products. I would sure appreciate ANY information on doing cakes in Africa, recipies and what products I might be able to purchase there. My space to take supplies is so very limited. Thanks so much. .......Arlene

Hi arlene5021,

welcome to CC hope you will enjoy it here.

I know that South Africa has a sugarcraft guild. Maybe you can get information through the British Sugarcraft Guild http://www.bsguk.org/ They have International Members and there was a lady from Africa at an BSG exhibition in UK with her own sale stand. Hope this help.

We also have a CC member from South Africa, just can´t remember her name at the moment, but maybe she can give you informations.

Good luck

Bettina
