to our family!! We are so excited. We adopted a Brittany pup--he's 10 months old. His name is Billy and he's just the sweetest guy! We rescued him from the American Brittany Rescue.

We will get him on Friday! YAY!! I've attached a pic of him.

Just wanted to share our great news!

Lisa

PS--I originally posted this in "The Lounge" but you can't attach pics there--so I deleted and moved the post to here so you all could see him.

Congrats! Kudos for not supporting breeders as well. There are so many unwanted dogs out there that it is better to rescue one that needs love. We rescued our Schnauzer about 5 months ago and she was so skinny you could see her ribs and everything. Well she now looks like me and my hubbyicon_smile.gif No starvin going on here! ;0

We actually had a breeder picked out but dh was worried about me having to deal with potty triaining two kids at the same time--one of the human variety and one of the canine variety! lol!! That--and we really wanted to help out a slightly older dog if we could. We also made a pretty generous donation to the organization--not only for Billy's medical care (he needed a surgery) but a bit extra "just because". They do great work!

Just wanted to throw out there if anyone has animal related questions please feel free to PM me. I will do my best. I Have been a Vet Tech since 1992. I do alot of client education at work so, anything from housebreaking to diseases just ask. I get way more info from here than I give so consider it a payback.

We almost went with a breeder to but then I started looking on the web and seeing all of the "bred" dogs that were in rescues and needing to be adopted. We actually found Harley at our local humane society. She has made a wonderful addition to our family too. In fact my 15 month old daugher will give her kisses anytime even if she doesn't want them and my husband and I cannot get them when we beg icon_wink.gif Congrats again and enjoy all the love that is surely coming your way!

English, Cocker, Welsh, Clumber, Irish Water, American Water, King Charles or your Brittany, ya gotta love the ever tail wagging, happy go lucky, loves people spaniels! Yahoo. Enjoy your new family member!!!! Mine is a 25 pound field English Spaniel fast enough to catch squirrels and rabbits. She is so little compared to the bench spaniel she bounces in the summer to see above the tall grass. Ears then tail, ears then tail - lol. Your Billy has a happy face!!!!!! Enjoy.

He's so cute. Almost makes me want a dog, we have three cats so we have enough pets.
