I'm am sooooooo excited, just had to share with you guy's. I primise myself that when I got my first wedding cake order I would put some of the money aside and buy one thing I really wanted. Well, I did. I ordered the KopyKake 300XK. Ordered it last night and got a confirmation that it was shipped today. Can't wait to get it. Didn't get any additional equipment with it. Anybody out there that has one, can you tell me if I need the "extras" like the c/d with all the picutres or the reduction lens?

Anyway, just had to share. My next purchase, will be an airbrush. Any suggestions on brand or type?

Any tips or suggestions on the KopyKake would be appreciated. icon_lol.gif

I have the same model and I just love it!! It allows you to do so many things...I didn't buy any CD'S or reduction lens.I just copy an image from the web and reduce it to fit the card size and that's it!! They send you a few complimentary cards but honestly the pictures are old and dated.I use my projector for images, writing etc.It was a good investment because I can't freehand for the life of me!! HA!HA!

Kiddiekakes, does it really help with the writing? I haven't invested in one yet but think I may. What type of image can you put in the machine? I was wondering if you have to use that transparency paper that is used for projectors or just any image on a paper?

Yes it really does but you have to do some resizing etc.Inside the projector is a place to slip a 4x6 type index card. The image needs to fit in the centre to give you a good full sized picture to transfer to the cake.same with Fonts. You don't use any special paper just plain white.I find an image and the n resize it unless it is a good size already and then print it and cut it out to size to fit the holder inside the projector. It isn't that much work!!

southernbelle,
I would love to know how you like your projector. I just
bought an air brush (Kopy Kake) I was going to by the projector at the same time but wanted more feed backbefore I made the purchase.
I am going to use my airbrush today. hopefully!
PS I bought my air brush from this company. a bit cheaper. low shipping a NO tax

The best advice is practice, practice, practice.Learn the feel of the brush etc..I practice on papertowels.

Kiddiecakes,

I can identify with you on the freehand, that is one of the main reasons I wanted the KopyKake. I can't wait to get it. I have a cake due next Saturday and will use it on that one. I do wonder tho....how bulky is it to move around. It looks fairly large to move from place to place.

I have wanted one for such a long time and have saved for the big purchase. Just filled out my taxes and now looking to get the airbrush. Hoping you guys can also steer me in the right direction on what I need there are well. I know KopyKake has 2 but which one is the better one and is there another brand other than KopyKakes that is just as good and maybe less expensive? I wonder.....could I transfer pictures small enough from the projector onto a cookie????? hummmmmmm the possibilities icon_biggrin.gif

Yes, you can reverse the lense to reduce the image instead of enlarging it. I havn't tried that yet, but that's what they say! icon_smile.gif

Southernbelle,

It's not that bad to move around. It's not heavy but you have to be careful you don't hit a light etc..Yes...it will do images on cookies also!! I have reversed the lense too but it worked better the other way!!You have to be careful though not to twist the lense so far down that it pops out of the ring.It is easy to put back, but the first time it did that to me I nearly dropped it!! I also have the Kopykake Airmaster and I love it!! The airmaster is the more expensive model compared to the Kroma jet ..it has a few extra features.I believe you can control the spray better.

I've been dreaming about a projector. Just don't know if I would use it enough to make it worth while. At this point I have only sold 1 or 2 cakes. I make them mostly for family and friends. It sure is nice to have the right equippment when you need it though. Let us all know how you like the projector when you get it! Congratulations.
