I'm wanting to do a cake with a mound of drop flowers on top...but I'm not sure how to get the height. I've seen it on cakes with roses, too...but since I'm missing my final Wilton Course 1 class, I won't know how to get the height I want. What do y'all do?

You can cover the dome of a cupcake or any cake with frosting and put it on the top and use that for your mound.

A quick and dirty way would be to use a big glob of frosting, but you'd probably want to warn people before about it so they can remove it before serving.

You just pipe a mound of icing, and then arrange the flowers on top. You can then put leaves where you may have some gaps showing... I guess this is what I was taught in my Wilton courses! (Personally, that would be the piece I would want to eat...the one with the big glob of frosting!!!)
