I attempted to make some a few days ago. It tasted delicious, but it kept cracking on me, so I didn't get ot use it.

My questions is, the recipe calls for a 16oz pkg of miniature marshmallows. I could only find 10.5 oz bags of miniatures. Is everyone weighing out the marshmallows to get 16 oz. or are you just using the one bag of 10.5 oz marshmallows.

Thanks,

Lainee

The recipe I got for MMF was from this website and called for 1 cup of mini marshmallows so I just measured. I think it was for the smaller batch. I believe the author was bunnywoman, you could do a search.

There are two different sizes of bags of mm. If the recipe calls for 16oz of mm to two lbs sugar, and you only have 10oz of powdered sugar, you need to reduce the powdered sugar by almost 1/2 pound. If you try to add all of it, it will be way too dry, thus cracking. It should be soft and not sticky when you get done kneading the mixture.

Weighing the marshmallows is your best bet.
