I want to make a cake in the shape of a dirtbike helmet for a birthday this weekend. I'm pretty confident about carving the shape of the helmet, but how can I make the visor. I assumed I would use gumpaste, but then how would I attach it? Please help I want this cake to work out!

toothpicks or skewers. I think if you really want it to stay in place you will have to use some sort of hardware like that.

Good luck.

If you make the visor ahead of time and let it dry you can either use toothpicks like Elauria suggested or you can make the visor big enough that you can push it into the cake. It should be light enough to stay put.
