I've looked through the gallery at many pictures of baby shower cakes with a small fondant crib/bassinet on them. I was wondering if you've done this, how do you give the crib structure? Is it foil underneath or cake or what? I saw several that had a high arch draped with fondant like a curtain behind the crib that were just beautiful.
Here are some of the ones I was looking at:

I did email the one maker but I'm in need soon for thoughts since my sister's shower is the 12th of march.
Thanks,
Dia
I would like to know myself, but I don't. However, here is a link to one that I had someone make for me- it's absolutely beautiful. This one wasn't the one that she made for me, but it's identical. She is a SUPER nice lady - I've only communicated with her via email, but she was very kind. Perhaps you could email her and she might answer your ?'s.

I've never done a bassinet so I can't help you there, but I've made a crib out of melted chocolate - very easy, and yummy, too!
There's a book by Linda Pawsey called "Christening Cakes".
She explains in detail how to create several different cribs.
I can scan the pages for you if you'd like.

That would be AWESOME! I'll send you my email address by PM.
You and I are working on the same project. The baby shower I am making it for is March 11th.
I have the book Christening cakes but I found a website that has step by step directoins that is much more detailed and easier to follow. I am combining ideas from both the website and the book. Maybe you could too.
