Hi
Just wondering if anyone has done a cake with Mallard duck. My sister is doing a fund raiser next weekend and would like a cake with Mallard duck. I would like to do a 9x13 cake and carve it into a duck, but I cant find a picture to copy. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mara
I recently had to do a rooster cake... I just used the wilton duck pan and modified it. Downloaded a picture of a rooster, and just used similar coloring. You could do the same for the Mallard - if you have the duck pan! To feed more, you could put it on a larger round. (I'll post it in birthday cakes, I don't know how to add photo to the message).
Oh my....I forgot about the duck pan, I 've wanted to buy it to do the thanksgiving turkey. I never thought I would have another reason to use it again. So I didnt get it. But now I will. Thank you. Im so excited.
Your rooster is too cute!!!!
I did a Mallard duck cake as my brother's groom's cake. I used the 3-D duck pan. I totally ran out of time and didn't get to add other things to it and my duck is rather large for his pond, but here's the link:

I found another picture of a mallard duck (a more realistic duck) at www.cindascreativecakes.com under Groom's cakes. Also, while you are on this site, at the top of the page, click on photo gallery, and the photo ID #356. This will take you to another mallard duck cake, similar to the one that I did.
