I don't think this is tacky. Why would it be?

A chef hat might be fun. Or you could do something whimsical, or a very simple cake with a little bit design. A Cupcake Cafe style cake would also be great, especially this time of year. Anything reminding me of spring is a good thing!

I agree, first thing that came to mind was a chef's hat.......you can use wilton's cupcake pan....it looks like a hug cupcake...only I think it looks like a huge chefs hat....that could be a fun cake

Definitely not tacky!! Just like lemoncurd said - why would it be?!?!

I love the idea of the chef's hat! Maybe you could do the chef hat and then some "utensils" around it. -like a fondant rolling pin and wooden spoon, or something....

The Pampered Chef logo would be perfect.. Maybe you could add some molded pieces (out of fondant or gunmpaste) of a rolling pin, whisk.. Something that you can purchase from the Pampered Chef Catalog.. Good Luck, can't wait to see what you come up with!

I thought that when you had a Pampered Chef party that the sales person made a dessert using the P.C. stuff. I may be wrong, but the ones I've been to that's what they've done. You could do a cake and just have it separate, just don't let it take away from what the Pampered Chef person does.

Briansbaker..how funny!? You're right...as my mom would say "great minds and all that jazz..."

Cakebybek...have you checked with the PC person doing the presentation? I would definitely check with him/her. Make sure it isn't an issue for them. I would hate for you to go through all that work and then there be an issue with you serving it.... icon_rolleyes.gif

My MIL is a PChef Consultant and I really don't think it would be a problem serving a cake. Usually the hostess chooses what PChef recipes she wants to have prepared and if you didn't choose a dessert, why not have a cake instead! I don't know how far away your party is but PChef has two new box cake mixes out and maybe your consultant has one you could use and then at least that way you can say the cake was made with it. I have been to PCHef parties where they have served cheesecakes so I can't see a cake being a problem!
Definitely post a pic if you make one! I never thought of the cupcake/chef hat idea! Maybe that will be MIL's next birthday cake!
Good luck,
Heather

I just took a toothpick and ran the lines in it to get the look.
