Just wondering if there is an official name for a second cake that goes with the main one but is not really decorated. I'd heard the term "kitchen cake" somewhere but I'm not sure if that is the proper term.

I have seen the term kitchen cake several times on this site, the plain jane cake that stays in the kitchen and served at weddings, same cake just not all dressed up.

Thanks! I needed a name to put on an order and I wasn't sure what to call it.
