Big question of the day: Whose initial goes on the left and whose on the right if you are putting the grooms in the middle? Thanks for your help!

There is no hard and fast rule anymore, its totally up to the bride and groom.
Such as a lot of other traditional things, the mans name usually came first, so his initial would be on the left, the surname in the middle, and the bride's on the right. Better to ask the bride on this one just in case, lol thumbs_up.gif

Thanks so much for the help! I am finishing up a rehearsal dinner cake and was thinking of putting their new initials on it. The grooms mom ordered it and doesn't care what I do - she just said "Make it pretty!" Is it jumping the gun to put their last initial on it?

The more I think about it, maybe I'll just put their first initials, or Best Wishes. Thanks

I had our monogram on our invitations, but on the wedding board I was on, some of the people commented that they felt like it was "bad luck" to have the new inital included icon_confused.gif A lot of people had me make up their monogram(including the last initial) so they could put it in their signature though, so only a small portion felt that way.

If you're worried about jumping the gun, you could do their first initals and in the middle have the & sign artfully inbetween.

Here is a monogram I did for a woman on a wedding board, who didn't want the middle initial included:

Thanks, I just went into Word and looked for different fonts to see how I wanted to pipe them...The first initials are H and J, I found a style I liked and put hers - the H a little higher (because it should be!!! IMO) and made the cursive J overlap the right leg of the H...came out pretty well! Thanks for the help!
