A lot of people around here like MMF (marshmallow fondant). There is a recipe for it in the Recipes section of this website. It's cheap, easy to make, and tastes good (very sweet....but good).

Here's another vote for the MMF. Works like a charm, cheap, and not too bad tasting! icon_smile.gif

MMF is one of the easiest to work with. If it gets a little hard, you can either knead a bit of Crisco into it or pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and it'll soften right up .... it tastes pretty good too .. I add flavorings to mine which helps.. if you've ever eaten one of those orange circus peanut candies, it's similar to those in taste icon_smile.gif

MMF tastes a million times better than the Wilton fondant, just make sure that you use the 16 oz bag of marshmallows and not the 10 oz bag, otherwise the fondant will be very dry, I found this out the hard way icon_confused.gificon_redface.gif

I'm too lazy to make my own so I use Satin Ice fondant!! Not all commercial fondant is nasty. Was it Wilton's fondant you tried???

I just posted Toba Garrett's recipe. It's very easy and tasty. I'm sold on it!

Where did you post Toba Garrets fondant recipe? Is it as easy and as good tasting as mmf?

southernbelle, check under the recipes forum and look for a subject line that says "Toba Garrett's fondant". If you can't find it, pm me and I'll send it to you. I much prefer the taste and texture to the mmf, but that's just my opinion. You should try it for yourself.

900g(8 cups) icing sugar
125ml (1/2 cup) glucose
15g gelatine
25g glycerine
50ml(1/4 cup) cold water

Soak the gelatine in the cold water. Place over hot water until dissolved and clear. (Do not allow the gelatine to boil) Add the glycerine & glucose to the gelatine. Stir until melted. Add mixture to sieved sugar. Knead to a soft consistency.
