Buttons Made Out Of Fondant ????

I have seen cakes decorated with buttons. I looked and looked and found no mold except one that is for 1 3/4" button too big.
Does anyone know how to make them? They are really cute.
Thanks
I've seen them, they are so cute! I think it would be easy enough to roll your fondant and cut in the size circles you want and just take a toothpick (or some like object) and make the little holes.
in the wilton year book, it says to roll out little balls & flatten them. then take the end of a dowel and use that to make the indent. you can then use a toothpick to get the holes in the middle
try going to : www.elegantlacemolds.com (try it w/ and w/out the "S" in molds) or www.firstimpressionsmolds.com , again try w/ and w/out "S"...
Bizarre that you asked this. Over the weekend, I was in a handmade gift shop in KC and saw eucalyptus sprigs made from multi-sized buttons on wire. I thought how cute that would be made from gumpaste and added to gumpaste floral arrangements on cakes! The dowel impression is a great idea. You've fired my inspiriation! Thanks!
Thanks everyone. I will try the suggestions.
Luvfondant, thanks for the link to first impressions. I will go threw their site, so far it looks great. I also love elegant lace molds, I have some from them.
take care
LOL this may sound crazy.. But whenever I go to play with my fondant, my 4yr. old Brian always pulls out his playdough.. You know what he uses to cut out round shapes to make me cookies??? The white top of a 2 litter bottle.. You know what it even leaves little imprints on the outer edge.. Then use the toothpick for the holes. Might wanna try it and see what i am talking about.. Just a thought!
leana, I did a cake with buttons in my photos. Use two different size circles I used the one in my Wilton Gumpaste Kit and a straw for the button holes. If you want textured buttons use a textured rollling pin on the fondant before cutting out your buttons. HTH!

i've made buttons by rolling the fondant in a ball and then smashing it with the bottom part of my small hand held wooden wilton roller - it will leave the indentation you are looking for - then just use the #2 or #3 tip for the button holes.
