I know I probably should have posted this in the cookie forum, but nobody is browsing there right now and I'm really excited to show someone! This is my first cookie bouquet that I made for my Sunday school teacher and his family; they are moving tomorrow morning. He just retired from the military. I wanted to incorporate something into the bouquet that would suit each member of the family. I did the bold red, white and blue colors for his retirement, I did the flowers and butterflies for his wife and daughter, the plane is for their move, and the cross represents what brought us together in the first place. These are the first cookies I have EVER decorated. I used NFSC, and Toba's Glace Icing. Any comments or criticisms would be greatly appreciated!
Those are sooo neat looking. I love the creativity and thought you put into it. No tips from me...You did an awesome job!
Thanks for sharing .
That is really cute........I would love to try one of those someday! It makes a really nice gift.
Wow, those look great! I never would've guessed it was your first time decorating cookies!!!
Very pretty. nice work, especially for your first time. You would NEVER know, great joB!!
I just wanted to thank everybody for your wonderful comments! I had saved one of the cookies because the stick broke off when I tried to put it in the foam. My best friend and I split it the other day and Oh My Gosh...it tasted so good. If ya like Bavarian Cream, I highly suggest it as a flavoring for cookie icing! Decadent! The wonderful comments have given me cofidence to go ahead and make more decorated cookies for one of my churches ministries that visits elderly and disabled "shut-ins" in their homes. It's a great ministry and they usually taked baked goods like cookies to each person they visit.
Just be careful...you'll get addicted to doing bouquets. I know I have. I like the very patriotic look of your bouquet. I'm guessing it was very well received.
It looks fantastic. I just did my very first batch of cookies lastnight, wanted to do a bouqet for my nephews soft ball team. I am very nervous though. They won't be eaten until Saturday, but my time is very limited so I had to do it when I could.
I find sugar cookies always taste better to me the next day. I am praying this is the case with the cookies I made. I tasted them lastnight and they were a bit dry to me (I used the NFSC recipe). I spent 4 hours rolling, cutting, baking, sticking and then adding rbc to these cookies!
You said your cookies were really good. Mind passing along your recipe?

Well, I think they look pretty darn good, especially for your first try. I've owned and operated a gourmet sugar cookie business for the past six years, and I love being able to create mini works of art for so many occassions. It's addictive. Keep up the good work!
They look wonderful!!! I wanted to make my daughters 2nd grade teacher one near the end of the school year, could you please share the icing recipe.
Thank you for all of your wonderful comments. Actually, the recipes I used are located in the CC recipes section. I used the No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe, and Toba's Glace Icing. I got the great taste by adding about 15-20 drops of Loran Bavarian Cream flavoring oil per recipe of icing (I had to make two recipes of icing because of the different colors that I used). LOL, of course, I have loads of extra and probably could have gotten away with one recipe's worth.
