I made NFSC last night and decorated them tonight, and their tacky
still, more than they usally are. I'm wondering if I should leave them in the oven, with the light on over night? or just leave them out on the counter?
Any idea's, I have to do more decorating on them in the morning..
thanks

What did you decorate with? I find that if I use royal then I can leave them out overnight and they are dry by the morning time. If you're using fondant or rolled buttercream, they are usually dry by the morning too. thumbs_up.gif

It could be the moisture content in your mix. Too much shortening, or whatever "oil" base you use can prevent it from drying. I found this out the hard way.

Most dry though. Also, your humitidy level in your area can affect it too. So if it's high right now, you may want to put them in the oven with the light on.....just to find out.

Can't hurt!! thumbs_up.gif

I decorated cookies on two days this week, Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The cookies that I decorated on Wednesday actually took a bit longer to dry since it was raining here, about 24 hours. I actually bagged the Thursday morning cookies Thursday night because they were dry already! Humidity plays a huge part in drying. I will definitely pay more attention to the weather for the next order I receive!
