Is it possible to get royal icing to dry faster? I iced some cookies today and want to decorate them for tonight. They're not a big deal, they're just for a family get-together, but I really wanted them to dry faster! Is there something I can do?

well, instead of flooding the entire cookie in icing, you can just do outlines and simple dots & stripes. Those take about 2 hours to dry.

Is it heat or cold that makes them dry faster?
Unfortunately they are already fully flooded, but I'll think about it more next time that's for sure! I'll try the fan thing... Thanks for the tips!

I never use heat or cold. I do put mine under a fan as was suggested and it helps!

I like to dry mine at room temperature but if you need to dry them fast you can put them in a very low oven but be careful that they don't scorch. The heat off a reading lamp can also help speed up drying slightly

I piped some teddy bears with Royal Icing and put them in a low temp oven to dry faster and ummmmm LOL They cracked!!! I don't think I will be doing that again. I think I'd go with setting them in front of a fan.
