It's still missing the white calla lily topper but I'm just so excited about finally having a wedding cake under my belt that I couldn't wait to post a pic somewhere. So excited!! I feel like a kid again.

Love the colors! Did you make the pearls? How did you do the dark stripe on the ribbon? Gorgeous cake!

Thank you! She (the bride) picked it, I mixed it. The pearls are from the craft store and the black is the super thin black ribbon layered on top of the white ribbon.

Are you sure this is your first wedding cake? I know Artesia's a small town and everyone will know how stunning your work is. I used to live in Carlsbad, that's how I know about Artesia. Again, Beautiful job!

Oh this is lovely! Your scroll work is very attractive. So perfectly uniform. I like the look of it on the solid, but it that purple or blue? I like it whichever it is. Very good job! Good for you!

I took all day because I baked and decorated all in the same day. So, probably about 4 hours for decorations only. The rest was baking, filling, covering and stacking.

Carol,
Thank you for the nice comments. The color when the bride first ordered it was described as periwinkle, but, when I got the sample color it was more purple than blue. The best way to describe the color is alot of purple and a little blue to darken it.

Whichever color, it'd darken some after the color sat so Iguess it'd be tricky to get it exactly the same as a sample. So if the bride is happy that's what counts, right? But it means the world when you're happy with it too. You can be very proud of this beauty!
