laugh ...Im trying to so I don't cry!! I feel like such and idiot!! I found 3 (sm, med, & lg) springform pans this weekend at a second hand store.......I spent the last 45 min scrubbing them clean.....they look brand new!!

BUT I CAN'T FIGURE THEM OUT!!!

First...I assume the bumpy side faces the bottom...right...or wrong?? icon_sad.gif

Second....either way I put the bottom in when I close it shut and put water in it I see water leaking from the bottom.......this concerns me for when I put batter in them?

Are the pans no good.....or am I?? icon_cry.gif

I didn't know you couldn't bake regular cakes in these either! I don't have any of these pans yet.

You can bake cakes in them. You could put a sheet of aluminum foil on the rack below the pan in case of any drips. I've used them for cakes before and haven't had any problems.

If the pans aren't water tight wrap a layer of foil around the outside and bottom of the pan.

The bumpy side faces up-- so that when it is clamped in you see it when looking into the pan.

Like the others advised, wrap in foil and/oe line your oven. You can bake anything in them. If they are older, make sure to grease them well so your cakes don't stick.
