Grrr..

I've been trying to make Gumpaste for so long! I live in rural alberta and we can't get ANYTHING...So I'm stuck with Wilton pre-made (which is stale, outdated, and rock hard), or wilton powder. Well, I've been trying the wilton pre-powder crapploa, and it just wouldn't get gummy....

So today, I decided to do it in myKA, and add 2 more tbsp of gumtex...Wa-La....Gumpaste...

I lived in Grande Prairie, AB for about 15 years. It's not so far north. I know that there was a store on the main street, just west of Co-op that used to offer cake decorating courses. I don't remember the name but maybe they know someone that teaches a gum paste course and you can get a recipe for homemade paste. I have a great one but I need permission before I can pass it on. I haven't heard good things about Wilton paste. Jsut a thought. icon_razz.gif

I feel your pain sugarbean! I live in Revelstoke!
Yhere's no decorating supplies to be bought here either.
I'd love a recipe for gumpaste. I haven't had much of a chance to get out of town this winter due to the snow. It's a 2.5 hour drive to Micheals. Drives me crazy some times! icon_confused.gif
