Any inexpensive ideas on how to add height to a cake. I thought of using glasses or cups covered in toulle and then placing the cake on top of it. The cakes are centerpieces on a table but they're only 2 layers and need more height (I think). I don't want to go out and buy 42 glasses and not get them back.

any suggestions ?

I would add another layer. For some reason cakes with an odd number of layers look funny. If you have 3 layers it looks much better than 2.

I think that's a decorators rule, for interior design; always group in odd numbers.
