I just received a request for a cake to serve 300 for a graduation! Yeah and Yikes! This will be my first cake that big so I am nervous. I was trying to come up with different combinations for her but it seems that 280 is as far as I can get!!!!! Am I missing something??? I am using the pricing matrix I received from here to plug in the number of cakes to get the servings and that would mean a 4 tier square (18",14", 10", 6") would only serve 280??? Is this right??? That seem like a huge cake!
Please help!!

This could be the cake that helps me convince my husband that I finally need a little place to bake and sell!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

WOW! I can't imagine having a party for 300 for graduation. What about a smaller tiered cake and a couple of sheet cakes?

You could do the cake you are planning on & just do an extra 1/2 or full sheet just to make sure there are enough servings. That way, she still gets the impressive tiered cake, but is sure there is plenty of cake.

Well.......that's what I said too in my head of course! 300 for a graduation party..... wow.

I know they make wedding cake for this many people but I was not sure if my matrix was coming out right.

Thanks!

Hi Bjfranco
I always use the Wilton website to work out my serving numbers. According to the website if you have a 16" 14" 12" 10"
you'd get 348 servings.
Take a look

Phew.......... Thanks. I was getting nervous about all those tiers. I like Wilton's way of counting better.

Thanks,
