I had to make this cake for my son to take to school for his birthday. I swear this cake was evil icon_evil.gif from the beginning, 20 minutes into baking we lost power for 4 hours icon_surprised.gif .Normally I make my icing while the cake is in the oven, but obviously not that day. Finally the power comes back on and I put fresh cake batter into the oven and I get my shortening in the stand mixer, start it up and NOTHING!!!!! Apparently I had left it plugged in during the power outage and when the electricity came back on it got hit with a surge icon_surprised.gificon_eek.gificon_cry.gif . This would also be the day my hand mixer decides to go into the light.ARGGGGHHHHH!!! Thank goodness I was able to borrow my SIL's mixer. Luckily while I was driving it over to school nothing horrible happened and I did get a Kitchenaid to replace the old cheap standup mixer party.gifparty.gifparty.gif

See, something good came out of that. You got a KitchenAid! If you're gonna decorate cakes a lot , you need one. I would be totally lost without mine. icon_biggrin.gif
