Well thanks to everyone who responded to my batter issue last week. I finally finished the bear and he looked great in the end.
After 2 attempts at vanilla and having it fall apart I resorted to doing a chocolate bear which my friend was fine with. However, once done baking, the batter didn't rise as it should have and did not completely fill the feet sections of the cuddle bear pan. Frustrating but nothing a little icing wouldn't fix.
More feet problems as I was decorating him, I noticed a crack in the one foot and didn't it start to break apart. So, I shoved a hunk of blue fondant under it to hold in place and then covered in chocolate icing.
In the end he looked great but the next day I came down to the other foot fell right off. I shoved more fondant under the second foot and added more chocolate icing.
Enjoy the pictures!
He is adorable! What a great save on the feet! I can't tell you ever had a problem with them. Love the blue with the brown! He is simply Beary beeeeutiful!
Super job! I love the way the fur looks -- just perfect!
Just curious - how do you cut it to serve it? I've always wondered that about the bear cakes.
