I have never used the Wilton candy melts and I am just wondering if you can use them like the chocolate clay? Meaning, can you add the corn syrup to the melted candy and have it be moldable (is that a word?) Thanks!

yep, and as far as I'm concerned, moldable is a word.

i've never done it, but there is a recipe on here that calls for about 1/3 corn syrup, i think per package. it's in the recipe section under candy clay. by the way, if you have a michaels near you, they have their candy melts 1/2 off this week. here that makes them 1.77 per package, so of course i bought a bunch, but i have no idea what to do with them.

THanks! I meant to ask as well, if I am using the white candy melts, can I add the icing color or does it have to be the candy color? Sorry for all the questions, I love your advice and guidance!

Do candy melts taste like chocolate or do I need to add extracts??? I've never used them, but I have a B-day cake coming up this week and could use them for the decorations if they taste like chocolate.

Thanks!! icon_biggrin.gif

The chocolate candy melts do taste like chocolate. The white or colored ones are vanilla flavored.

It's going to depend on your taste buds. Some like it, some don't. Best I can tell you is to get a bag and try them.
