A lot of times this will happen if your icing is to thick. Sometimes all you need is to stir in a bit more water until it is a thinner consistency.
Wanted to thank you both for your help. I was using the wilton reciepe with 1 cup crisco 2 table spoons water one teaspoon flavor one tablespoon marang powder and four cups powder sugar . plus i needed brown color so i added some coco ...Like I said before im still very knew at this also for some reason i can never get my icing smooth ..also thanks for the left handed ideas. because i to am left handed..jackie
Ok...
Your Icing is too thick that is why its not sticking...
When you add Coco to your icing you need to add more water for that .. Also You need about 1/2 cup of water for your icing..
I use:
1 1/2 cups sweetex (shortening) have used Crisco also this way.
2 pounds powder sugar
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons Vanilla
I use Stay Ice as my stablizer (it helps with the heat and humity and the melting of your icing..)
