I was making a b'day cake for a friends 74 yr old mother. The only thing she said was she liked bingo & strawberries. Long story short she cancelled it at the last minute (4 hrs.) icon_confused.gif So I now have a 12" heart shaped cake already torted, chocolate dipped strawberries in the fridge and a bingo card made out of fbct in the freezer. Since I now get to do what I want I was wondering what kind of filling you think would best compliment the chocolate dipped strawberries. It's a strawberry cake also. She wanted a vanilla pudding filling. Thanx.

Well, being the strawberry lover I am, I'd probably go with strawberries. Bummer on the cancelation. At least it was not a huge cake.

I was going to do the vanilla with fresh strawberries in the middle for her but now I was thinking of using bananas in the middle. Strawberries & bananas yum. I need to make up my mind because my DH will not leave the strawberries alone lol. I don't care about the cancellation as we all got laid off(permanately) on Tuesday and she's worried about money. I wasn't going to charge her for the cake but she's pretty bummed right now. I'm going to make her one (on me) for Tuesday to cheer her up.

Wow. Sorry about the lay offs. That's definitely no fun. A little cake will definitely be a cheery additon to her day then. My kids hoover till I top the cakes. If I don't do them in a timely manner (what they think is timely) they start asking (are you going to top it yet?). Then I get to sweep crumbs up for hours. I couldn't finish my tootsie roll roses because my daughter ate all the tootsie rolls. Makes for frustrating cake decorating some days icon_smile.gif

DH is bad, he's always hoovering. Loves the "leftovers". The lay-off wasn't so bad for me since I had a new job by Thursday. Same work and better pay!!!

I ended up going with the vanilla filling with fresh sliced strawberries. I posted the picture under b'day cakes in the gallery even though I technically didn't finish it.

Hmmm. When I click on your photos link, it says no images to display. Sounds yummy.
