I am short one choc. butter cake mix....I need to change a yellow DH butter cake mix to a chocolate DH Butter cake mix - any one ever do it and how did you do it? I am thinking that I probably need some cocoa powder and a bit more water...the yellow mix called for 2/3 cup water but the chocolate mix calls for 1 1/4 cup....Anyone?

Thanks!!!

I there, i dont use cake mixes, but i have a scratch vanilla buttercake that i often change to chocolate by adding a few tablespoons of dark italian cocoa and 1/3 of a cup of plain unflavoured yoghurt.
I hope this is of some help to you.

I have no ideas how to "change" it, however when making a chocolate cake before from DH cake mix, I like to use 1 butter recipe golden with 1 chocolate. It gives a delicious light chocolate flavor..... my customer loved it!

Good luck.

Post how it works if you do "change" it!
