I keep coming up with this off white color. this is not working for me, especially when i'm using certain flowers that have pure white as their color. am i doing something wrong, or is this usually how MMF turns out?

if thats the case, is there a way to whiten it? i've tried the dab of blue, tried the liquid whitener (not too much), and nothing is working. Does the brand name vs. the store brand make the difference?

i hope someone has a suggestion, as the closest store that sells satin ice or any other decent brand is an hour away, shipping the stuff costs more than the satin ice itself, and i downright refuse to use wilton.

thanks,
becky

You could try a dab, (very, very little) of violet. This takes away the yellow hue. I have tried it a few times with buttercream. That is why I say a little. I ended up using way to much.

I dont know if this is an issue but clear vanilla? I use it with other icing to keep them white. Maybe you already use the clear though. icon_confused.gif

i'll try the violet and pick up some kraft marshmallows tonite and try again. my kids will be thrilled, there is an unopened bag of store brand minis in the cabinet they can munch on!
i've never used vanilla in my mmf, the recipe calls for water, so thats what i use. i'll be the vanilla tastes good though.
thanks for all the tips, this was very helpful
