Hi eveyone...
Well, I'm wondering if there's a way to make buttercream that is not too sweet. How??
Also, is there a recipe for fondant that tastes better than the ones bought at the store?? If so, can you post it??

Help!

Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

I can send you a home made fondant recipe that a very experienced teacher gave us but to be honest I think it pays to test out a few of the store baught products, we are in Australia so brands may be different but there are 3 main ones here and they could are so very different in taste. Let me know if you want me to send the recipe.....
Have you tried the mmf that everyone here at cake central talks about??

for the fondant substitute...try the marshmallow fondant (abbreviated as MMF around here)....I haven't had the nerve to make it myself yet but everyone here who's tried it swears by it because it's cheaper and tastes better too.

don't have any suggestions for the buttercream but I'm sure someone else will come along with an answer.

by the way, welcome to cc!!

Try flavoring your buttercreme with almond, vanilla and butter flavors in equal amounts. That alleviates the too sweet taste . . .that's the only flavoring I use for mine and everyone raves about it!
I've purchased the Satin Ice fondant but haven't had an opportunity to try it yet.
