I've seen the directions to make the edible pearls on earlene's website. My ? is.......can you make them from mmf?, or do u have to use regular fondant? Would the mmf stay softer so people wouldn't break their tooth trying to eat them? Or should they be really hard? Would adding gumtex be advisable? Any advice would be appreciated........................Thanks in advance...................Bunny

It's not necessary to add gumtex to fondant for pearls. And, they don't get hard as a rock either which seems to be your goal. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work with MMF. I'd try it just to see if you like that better than fondant. However, fondant works just fine. It's the edible pearls that you buy pre-made that are hard as a rock. If you notice on Mrs. E's site, she needs notice to have the pearls made by her as opposed to the packaged type. She specifically says the fondant ones aren't hard like the others.

Hope this helps you. Have fun with your project.
