I am making a strawberry cake then covering with fondant so I know I have to use butter cream. But can I make it two layers and put a filling in the middle. I was thinking cream cheese. Or is that too much?

i just made a strawberry cake for my son...i filled it with "pastry pride" and folded in some strawberry perserves!!! it was Delicious and everyone la la la loved it!!!!
