I use the Wilton Class Buttercream

It's 1 Cup shortening
1 tsp flavoring (almond, vanilla, or butter)
2 tbls milk or water
1 lb powerded sugar (approximately 4 cups)
1 tbls witon meringue powder
a pinch of salt

cream shortening flavoring and water
add dry ingredients..mix well

makes 3 cups stiff consistency

add one tsp for each cup of stiff to make medium consistency
add two tsp for each cup of stiff to make thin

i loooooooove this recipe but i see on hear a lot of people aren't fond of it...so they use half butter half shortening ( I don't know if it still crusts) I never tried it. I like it the way it is icon_smile.gif It crusts very nice icon_smile.gif

Good luck

buttercream dream from the recipe section.....best flavor ever! Not too sweet, doesn't have that "shortening" taste.... icon_biggrin.gif
