Has anyone taken any chocolate classes? Recommendations?

I am thinking of taking one. I saw something about classes at LA Burdick in NH that sounded great. Has anyone gone there?

Thanks!

I took chocolate classes with Pam Vieau at Wilton in Chicago and I also did some chocolate work at the French Pastry School (in Chicago). I learned so much from each one and I really enjoyed it--and I didn't think I would like it at all .

Pam has her own chocolate business and you come home with so much stuff you have to go to Curves for 3 months. The French Pastry School is more expensive, but you use commercial machines, etc., so the experience is very different.

I don't know where you are in OH, but the Viking Culinary School in Lyndhurst at Legacy Village has some evening classes in chocolate and they're a lot of fun, too. Not so much technical learning, but informative.

Rae,

Thanks for the info. I live in the eastern side of Lake County, but I work in Mayfield Village, so the classes at Viking would be close by - I'll take a look at them.

I'll also check out the classes at Wilton. Are these classes in downtown Chicaco? What is the area like that it's in?

My hubby would probably have a fit about me going there alone. He has said he would go to cake shows and such with me, but I know he would be bored after half an hour and then I would be getting the 'signals' from him. Even if he went and did his own thing, it just wouldn't be fun for either of us... or our son either.

Thanks,
Steph
