I'm looking for anyone who had ever tried Butavan flavoring and their opinions on it. Thank you!

I was eager to try Butavan after hearing so many people on another forum rave about it. I finally stumbled upon some at a cake decorating supply store near me and rushed home to give it a try. Well, maybe I had my expectations set too high on the stuff but I couldn't tell a difference in the taste. I can't say that I like it or disliked it. It just wasn't anything impressive to me. I think my cakes are great with the things I add to them on my own. I'm sure you will find people here that may have better opinions of it than I. I do encourage you to give it a try..maybe you will appreciate the results better than I did.

Can you tell us what exactly it is derived from and what it tastes like please?

I really like butevan-but I don't eat cake or icing-I just like the smell of the icing and the texture. I ordered my online-it't thick like a syrup instead of clear vanilla. Try it-it's truly the only way to find out what works for you!

It's supposed to be a combination of butter and vanilla flavors, hence the name butavan. I've heard that a lot of people who use it also add almond extract along with it and they get rave reviews. I just ordered some myself, so I'll let ya know what I think when I try it.

I bought some recently because I had read so many forums that mentioned it. I LOVE IT. It really has a great taste.

I've used it...but I use less than others do.
Maybe it is me but I sense a sort of "aftertaste" when I use it.
