Oh oh oh I am SO excited! I finally ordered a gorgeous Cinnamon Red Pro 6. My husband always said he wanted a fire engine red mixer to make our KA mixer collection red, white, and blue, but since I'm the primary user, I overrode him! LOL He said it was beautiful. It will arrive on Monday.

The last few wedding cakes I've done, I've been grousing about the limits of my 5 qt KA. I'd love to hear you tell me how many doctored cake mixes you can do in your Pro 6 as well as how many recipes of the IMBC found here on this site. Also, if anyone does the half-butter, half-shortening buttercream made with 2 lbs of powdered sugar, how many of these batches can you make? Probably 2?

Exciting times! icon_biggrin.gif

I've done 3 doctored cake mixes and 3 batches of the 1/2 butter 1/2 crisco buttercream. Just had to stop and scrape down the sides a few times...it was pretty full, though...lol. But my pro6 , named Pearl icon_razz.gif , didn't even wince! She just trucked on through until they were done...lol. I've also done 2 batches of bread dough at once and it had no problems.

I always doubled the buttercream recipe that you mentioned without any problems, it works very well. I dump in my butter and shortening and let that beat for a little bit, add my flavourings and then put 1 2lb bag in, let it mx, then add the 2nd bag. This is where it can get a little dicey. It's really dry so mine starts to sort of groan a little bit. I add the liquid and all is well. I love my KA Pro!!!
