We are going back many, many years here. But I used to have plastic Christmas design cookie cutters from Maid Of Scandinavia (now Sweet Celebrations) and they included a sugar cookie recipe with the cutters, it was called
Merry Christmas Cookie Dough
If any of you have it, maybe passed down from a relative, would you please post it? I just remember it as being one of the best tasting sugar cookies, it was a rather soft dough that had to be refrgerated for several hours or overnight because the cookie cutters were 3D and the dough would stick inside Santas features if it was too soft.
That could be it Naty. I don't remember it having cinnamon but I think that could just be omitted. The one I rememebr may have had milk or cream but it has been so many years I am just not sure. I emailed Sweet Celebrations long ago and they didn't have a copy of the recipe or know of anyone who might have it. I will print out the one from this link and try it. Thank you for finding it for me.
take a look at this one

maybe I'm getting closer!!!
Definitely closer and this one sounds really good, I've saved it too. But the original recipe didn't call for powdered sugar. I sure am fussy, aren't I?
Im not sure about this one, but I noticed that you said it did not have powdered sugar, so try looking at this:
