icon_confused.gif I'm so confused right now, I keep seeing this "rolled fondant" on other cake supply sites and sometimes on tv shows. Can someone tell me what is this stuff and how is it used?

I just keep buying the boxed fondant and work with that after kneading it to get it really plyable and easy to form.

Is it worth buying this rolled fondant stuff? How does it taste? I mean is the taste more sweeter or does it have a "clay like taste"??

Thanks..........

They're the same thing.

You can buy fondant/rolled fondant (as you are doing) or make it. The marshmallow fondant recipe on this site is quite good.
It's only called rolled fondant because you can roll it out and use it to cover a cake.

There's another kind of fondant called poured fondant, but I don't think that's what you're talking about at all.

as far as i know rolled fondant and boxed fondant are basically the same. you have to roll the box fondant to get it on the cake also, but in my opinion the box fondant taste like "poop". icon_rolleyes.gif the mmf recipe is by far the best i've worked with and tastes great. someone else compared it to circus peanuts and thats is about right. you can get the recipe for mmf on this site and it is very easy to make. (also compared to the price of the box stuff it is xtremely cheap to make!!)
hope i helped ya... thumbs_up.gif
