I was wondering if anyone can give me pointers on making those milk chocolate and white chocolate covered strawberries that look like little tuxedos?
They weren't that difficult when I made them.
Just have a bowl of white chocolate, and a bowl of regular.
Dip straight up and down in the white, and let it solidify. The dip one side, the other side, and the back in chocolate and let THAT dry.
And then I just took a tooth pick and dipped it in the chocolate for ties and buttons. Alternatively you could use a parchment pasty bag with a tiny opening to draw the ties and buttons on. (I didn't have pasty bags, or the ability to make them at the time.)
One thing is to be sure you let the excess drip off or you'll end up with a big puddle of chocolate collected around the bottom of the strawberry.
I dip my strawberries at an angle in the dark/milk chocolate to make a "V" for the tuxedo. Give your strawberries a little push on the tray after you set them down each time you dip them. This prevents that lip from forming. Another tip I use about a tablespoon of paramount crystals in my chocolate when I melt them. This helps the chocolate stay on the strawberries after you take a bite.

Thanks so much!!! Sounds simple enough, but I have a talent for finding ways to make a mess
These are super easy, I've made them before and it they turned out much better than I thought they would, I bet you'll do great!
Can't wait to see what you make! I haven't made strawberry tuxedos in a long time.

Cakemommy, this is probably the most idiotic question, but what are paramount crystals?
Here you go! I love the stuff! I only use it for my chocolate when I dip!!!!

Thank you!!! I was waiting for you to say it was a brand of granulated sugar!
I'll try it--as much as I LOVE chocolate dipped strawberries, it isn't so wonderful when the chocolate shell comes off in the first bite! Neat!
I've seen wedding dress strawberries before but these are beautiful! That is some seriously white chocolate. I wonder what kind it is! The flash certainly helps!!!

Hi Beany,
Thanks for posting those gorgeous strawberry tuxedos.
Could you tell me the link where you found them?
Thanks.

Thanks so much, Beany,
I must try these. What a nice decoration for a wedding shower cake.

These are fun to make! I have a cake w/them on my photos. I dip just the front for the white then it doesn't get so thick. They are soooo good! I love the picture of the white wedding dress one! How cute and soooo perfect!
Im surprised they last long enough to ship them the way they do. Wow gold pricing but beautiful!
