I got a request to make cherry blossoms for a wedding cake, does any one know how to make them and what to make them out of: royal icing or gumpaste?

If anyone has pics of cherry blossoms they have made please post!!

I just did a cherry blossom cake for a pastor's wife. We are here in Japan, the home of the cherry blossom. I did a variation on the apple blossom with snow-white buttercream icing. But, if you are looking for a fuller blossom, you might have to experiment, especially if your customer has something particular in mind. The following website had great photos for showing the different types of petal formations there are:

I have enclosed my cake for you to view. Hope that helps.
