Hi Gals,

So I am VERY far from being a professional, this is just my hobby and I do cakes for all family members,etc...

My hubby company just moved to a new facility and I would love to do this a a warming/welcome gift!

I found this cake from an awesome website (www.cindascreativecakes.com )

I would like to figure out how to recreate it to some degree.

Now I dont need it this huge. I am thinking a full Sheet cake for the pavement/parking lot and then I guess just square pan for the building. I know how to do great trees and the parking lot will be easy. I am unsure about the building and the details like the posts in front.

And then I am not sure waht type of cake will hold up well? (sorry but i use cake mixes, it is all i have time for with an infant), how do i dowel it and how many dowels? How to get the pavement color and it not taste bad? I would like to make windows, jsut do them with fondant( i usually make MMF, is there another that taster better)?

I just recently made a different kind of buttercream, but still havent found the best recipe, any ideas? what about choclate? i hate doing chocolate cakes cuz it seems like their consistency is so diffferent, they just never frost well and pretty much suck for me! But it might look the best for this cake huh?

Thanks for your time above all else! icon_smile.gif

I soooo rely on this stie!

We'll be chatting!

I bet you can make the top border (tan), sign, and the light posts all out of fondant.. Using royal icing for any pieces that need to be glued. And the size? I think an 11X15 cut in half and stacked would be perfect.. Good Luck!!

I am new to this too, but I would use fondant on a lot of it but check the toy store for cars and trucks and trees you may find other things that you can add to it. I have used toys on a lot of my cakes and everyone loves it and thinks they look so neat and clean.--Good Luck send in photo when your done --love to see it.
