I just made a lemon cake and I'm planning on making lemon curd as a filling to go with it. I just noticed that I'm out of butter and don't really want to run to the store. Will cream cheese frosting taste good with this cake or should I make regular buttercream. Thanks.

I recently made a lemon coconut cake, that called for a passionfruit cream cheese frosting. I thought that it would taste too tart so i just did straight cream cheese frosting. It tasted beautiful. I think go ahead, it should taste great.
