Hi everyone, I know this is not a cake as such, but my best friend has had a baby boy and I would love to attempt to make a nappy cake, does anyone have any directions on how to make one, any replies would be appreciated.

Thank you

I don't know how to do this, but thought I'd let our American friends know what a nappy is. I'll bet a few people are scratching their heads. Nappies are diapers! icon_smile.gif

If you type in diaper cake in your search engine some sites will come up...About.com gives step by step instructions on those...I made one for my friend..turned out great!

Do you mean a cake made out of actual nappies/diapers? I've seen several on eBay before & I think there's a website about it... Here's one with instructions: http://www.babbee.com/shower-diaper-cakes/
I've seen them made from either cloth diapers (nappies) as well as disposable ones & usually 2 or 3 tiers, depending on how much you want to "give" the mother-to-be. Also, the cakes are usually "decorated" with accessories including a brush, comb, diaper pins, pacifiers, receiving blankets, baby rattles, baby toys, teething ring, etc. Well, anyway, you get the idea!

Hope this helps,
