I have tried this before, and it works fine as far as baking goes. But when you have equal amounts of white and chocolate batter, the marbeling is not as noticable as it would be in a regular marbled cake mix.

When you make the cake from the mix, it is usually yellow cake, that has a smaller portion of the chocolate batter dropped by spoonfuls and gently mixed into the yellow batter.

With equal amounts of batter you will have to be very gently in marbeling the cake or you will just end up with a cake that has very little (if any) marbeling effect to it!
