I was asked to make a half sheet carrot cake decorated for a baby shower. I am going to decorate it in fondant and cream cheese frosting. The problem is I don't know what to charge for it. Can anyone please give me some ideas. I don't want to under price and cut myself short. Thanks Sandy icon_rolleyes.gif

You need to figure out what your cost is in a spread sheet list all of your stuff that you will ever use and then you just go in and add numbers to this sheet and it will give you cost for your cake and then you have to deside what your mark up is going to be it 2.5% or 3.0% and then you go from there...

If you (or anyone else) want a copy of my extremely user friendly matrix you can shoot me an email (not a PM- an actual email). You must specify whether you use Works or Excel. If you have both, excel is a hint easier.

Cool... how many cakes do you do a week? I cant do many here...I mean I could if there were more people, but with the base closing, there isnt, and I know as long as I keep the price under 40 for a 9x13 I can get some business. But once back in the states....I may have to just put the matrix in effect...I have Calidawns...I wondering if hers and yours is about the same....how much do you charge for a 9x13?

NO Cali4dawns matrix is more in telled then the one that I put together.. Mine is totally basic there is no frills like hers its just the pricing only and mark up. There was just too much there for me and I would never use all of that stuff they had on theres so I made one that was more simple to use for me... And that is what I have shared with Pureshugga..
