Hiya. I was thinking about attending a cake decorating 'crash course' in either the McCalls school in Toronto, Canada or the Wilton School in Illinois. As far as I am aware they both offer 10 day courses which cover levels 1-3. I am from Toronto, so it would be a little easier to attend the course there, but also would have a place to stay if I attend the Wilton School. Cost aside, which one would you recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanx!
The courses I attended with Wilton were one day a week for 4 weeks .. I attended all 3 courses that were offered here... I later attended a petit four class and a candy making class that Wilton offered but had to travel to another town to attend them ... I thoroughly enjoyed all the courses I took.. my advise, is take whichever is closer to you .. if you're not happy with it, then attend the other one .. you always learn something a bit different with each instructor
I am thinking she is talking about the Wilton School in Chicago?? There is a 10 day course you can take there.
Welcome aboard Sheen! I've never taken any decorating courses so I can't help with the question, but there are a few other Canadians here (and on www.cakescanada.com) who may have done the McCall's crash course...
Thanx Guys! I know it was a bit of a funny question! Thanx for all your help. I am just so excited about getting into cake decorating. This site is great and you are all so kind ad helpfull! I Think I will stick with my course in Toronto as I will get to stay at my parents for free! Cheers!
