i am tryingto get dummies done for a show but was intereted to know what is the IN color for 06 weddings? notice any trends?/

all white with silver accents.

My cake room for this year has been pink!!! My bridal show in a few weeks is also going to be pink in theme, simply because I have everything ready to go!!!! I have been trying to think of a new color to do my room, I still love pink!!!!! If I do change I may do cream and red!

I have 6 orders for Black/Pink accents this year and 2 or 3 for Fuchsia/Tangerine accents. Those were a bit unexpected!

Pink is definitely really popular!!

I know trends vary from place to place, but all my friends have had brightly colored bridesmaids gowns. Black, dark cocoa, dark red, metallic blue, and light metallic green. Pretty much anything to get away from the traditional pastels. They didn't want the cake those colors, but wanted ribbon/flowers to coordinate with the striking color theme.

These were all summer/fall weddings.

I do mostly all white and bride provides fresh flowers.

For my daughter's wedding this summer, she wants to use pink and mocha (light brown).

I have one order for a cake in July. The bride wants "Espresso" (slightly browner than "champagne") and "eggplant" (deep purple).

I have an order for white with fuscia accents in June. Originally she wanted light pink with black.

I have an order for a cheesecake with strawberries. The bride's dress is white with red at the top. I've seen a lot of these. Also have noticed the bridesmaids going darker. Reds, blacks and dark blues seem to be really common.

It certainly wouldn't be my pick for colors! I've been seeing more ivory based cakes over the last year or so.

I didn't think about all of the background things either, really sounds disguting when you think about it.

I've noticed a lot of weddings with fuscia. Not necessarily on the cake every time, but I see a lot of black bridesmaid's dresses with fuscia accents.

I also have seen quite a bit of red.

I've noticed a lot of hot pink with black accents for bridal showers.

For weddings, earth tones, baby! Lots of chocolates and creams and rusts.

I just got married august of 05'. Our colors were ivory,black, and dark red. Red is always elegant looking especially agianst black.

Now, VACakeLady, you know I'm just kidding!! There are just people out there that have the money but just don't have taste!!! Your cake was fabulous except for those colors! And everyone is right, the background colors really are just as bad!!

Last year, I did a bunch of pink/fuschia colors with silver accents... so far this year, I've gotten burgundy's, just white and ivory colors ... every bride has their favorite color ... most around here just go with that and not what the trend is I think... I never know what they're going to ask for! lol .. but I'll do whatever the bride wants
